Our Story
Teddy of Roses was conceived in 2017 to support my wife Kathryn. She struggles with cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and over time, limits the ability to breathe.
During her many hospital stays, I always purchased a bouquet of roses for her room. These flowers held a special meaning for Kathryn because as a small child with “CF, ” she couldn’t say “Cystic Fibrosis.” Her care team told her to call the disease “65 Roses,” which was easier to pronounce.
Kathryn cherished the floral bouquets, but personally I was disappointed that they wilted so quickly. I wanted to find a longer lasting expression of my love and continued support to her for years to come.
And THAT’S how Teddy of Roses was born!
Since our Rose Bears are made of faux roses, they will never wilt or die. During every hospital stay, I continue to gift Kathryn with a Rose Bear of a different color. In keeping with our commitment to help end this disease, Teddy of Roses donates a portion of profits for every Purple Rose Bear sold since purple represents the color of cystic fibrosis awareness.
